FAQ

Is this a ‘Lil Red Express’?

Technically, no. Basically, it’s a clone, or perhaps technically more of a “tribute,” made from a standard ’79 Dodge Adventurer D-150 step-side pickup truck, which was the base used for the true limited-production ‘Lil Red Express’ trucks. (So its appearance is identical to the Lil Red Express except for the custom graphics and some engine and other enhancements.)

Weren’t the single round headlights on the ’78 version and not on the ’79?

Yes, but in those days a lot of people didn’t like the looks of the “new” rectangular headlights. So it appears that a previous owner replaced the grille and headlight assembly with the preferred ’78 version. (A couple years later, when Jeep switched from the round headlights on the CJ model to the rectangular headlights on the YJ model, people called it sacrilege, and referred to it as the “Why-oh-why J?”)

Personally, I think it looks better this way, with the round headlights.

Is that real wood on the sides and in the bed?

Yes, it is. And it’s beautiful.

Are those chrome exhaust pipes functional?

Yes.

Are the chrome exhaust pipes loud?

Oh yeah!  😉
